Fantasy-piece for Horn and Piano was commisioned by the Icelandic horn player Emil Fridfinnsson.  The piece has an improvisational character, although the first motive is rather prominent in the progress of the piece. The piano is often used undamped, both to trap the sound of the horn and as well as emphasize the contrast between the nature-horn and the even-tempered piano.
